1. Information We Collect and “Notice at Collection”

At Makes Sense Software LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), privacy is a core architectural principle. We collect the following categories of personal information:

Identifiers: Name and email address provided during account creation, purchase, or support.
Licensee Name: A name (typically your company name) that you set on first login and which is embedded in the Software you download. See Section 5 below.
Commercial Information: Records of licenses purchased and the specific versions of software you are entitled to.

Merchant of Record: We use Lemon Squeezy to handle payments. We do not collect or store your raw credit card numbers or full billing addresses; these are managed entirely by Lemon Squeezy.

Email Delivery: We use Resend to deliver transactional emails (login links, purchase confirmations).

Hosting: Our website and account database are hosted on Cloudflare (Pages, Workers, D1, KV, R2) in the United States.

2. Our “On-Premise” & Privacy Commitment

Our software does not “phone home” or track your usage. Because our plugins run on your infrastructure (e.g., your Redmine server), your project files and databases never touch our network.

No IP Tracking: We do not use IP addresses to restrict your software usage or verify your identity.
No AI Training: We do not use your personal information or support queries to train any artificial intelligence models.

Data Location: User account and entitlement data is hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure in the United States. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and provides Standard Contractual Clauses, ensuring that your data is handled in accordance with European data protection standards regardless of where it is stored.
Retention: We retain purchase dates and entitlement records indefinitely. Your license is perpetual, so we keep the records needed to let you download the versions you are entitled to at any time in the future.
Your Rights (GDPR): If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address in Section 7.

4. California Resident Rights (CCPA/CPRA 2026)

As a California-based LLC, we respect your rights to:

Know & Access: Request a history of data we hold about you.
Delete & Correct: Request the deletion or correction of your account data.
No Sale: We do not sell or share your personal information.

5. Communications

Transactional Emails: We send emails necessary for the operation of your account (login links, purchase confirmations, security notices). These are not marketing and cannot be opted out of.
Product Updates: We may occasionally send you information about updates to the products you have purchased, or new products relevant to your existing licenses. You can unsubscribe from these communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any such email or by contacting us.
Newsletter: If you sign up for our newsletter or product announcements (e.g., Merlin waitlist), we will send you periodic updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. We will never add you to a newsletter without your explicit consent.

6. Product Customization (Watermarking)

Each copy of the Software you download is personalized with a licensee name (typically your company name) that you set on first login to your account. This name is embedded in the Software to identify the license holder. The licensee name is stored alongside your account data and is used solely for this purpose.
